BBQ cook –
This is a cool position: Help us to cook thousands of pounds of delicious barbecue each day in Memphis, TN! This requires a lot of very heavy lifting: We typically cook 2,000 lb batches every 24 hours, 7 days a week! Must be able to repeatedly lift 40 lbs at a time. This can be great exercise, and we are often are able to skip the gym at the end of the day. No experience required, but this position requires a lot of dedication! Once we load our pits, a lot of people will be relying on you, so dependability is of high importance! This can be a great way to learn how to cook! After a while, your friends and family will be calling you every day asking for grilling and barbecue advice!
BBQ Pitmaster –
Perform the same work as BBQ cook, and the difference is the amount of dedication required…you’re in charge of the entire batch! No experience required, but this requires a full-time commitment (this is not a job for students in school or for part time). While we attempt to stay on a regular schedule whenever possible, this can occasionally require some long shifts and late-night cooking. The Pitmaster oversees each batch and is responsible for managing people and maintaining cooking equipment.
Team Member –
We are looking for friendly and professional Team Members to take orders, answer questions, make recommendations, and deliver bbq to guests, all while providing excellent customer service. Ability to follow health and safety standards is very important for this position. The goal is to provide not just delicious bbq, but also superior customer service and a memorable experience!
Management (Manager, Supervisor, Shift Leader) –
Applicants must have previous management experience and a strict but personable management style, with a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate can recruit, train, and supervise a team of 5-6 people per shift, with total staff of about 40 people. Ability to enforce the Baby Jack’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is a must. The position currently requires only a minimal amount of administrative duties, such as scheduling, food cost and labor cost management, POS systems, and review of P&L’s. The goal is for the management team to be laser focused on people management and devote as much time as possible to training, training, training!
